Killers tortured woman with blade
Georgina Edmonds
Post-mortem tests showed Georgina Edmonds died from head injuries
A 77-year-old woman who was bludgeoned to death in her home was tortured by her killers, police have revealed.

Georgina Edmonds' body was discovered by her son at her home in Kiln Lane, Brambridge, Hampshire, on 11 January.

Post-mortem tests revealed she died of extensive head injuries. No-one has been charged with her killing.

Police said "a kitchen paring knife or something of similar shape and size" may have been used to make the puncture wounds to her body.

'Horrific attack'

Det Ch Insp Paul Barton, from Hampshire Police, said: "This weapon has not yet been located.

"This was a horrific attack on an elderly lady who lived alone and we are continuing to urge the community to come forward with information that could help us find the person or people responsible."

A man, dressed in a fluorescent jacket, was captured on CCTV on the evening of Mrs Edmonds' death trying to take money from her account at a cash point machine in Eastleigh - just a few miles from her home.

Officers have been unable to trace him or two men seen on several occasions at Brambridge Garden Centre close to Mrs Edmonds' home, despite releasing e-fits of them.

Four men were arrested on 14 January. They have all been released without charge.
