Police have charged a 45-year-old Portsmouth man with 19 offences under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

He was charged following an investigation into letters sent between 2003 and 2007, allegedly containing white powder.

The case also relates to a bomb hoax last year when a device was found attached to a footbridge on the A27 near Havant.

The case will be heard at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 13 March.

The man also faces charges relating to a series of letters with alleged racist content.
