Murder police release two e-fits
Georgina Edmonds
Post-mortem tests showed Georgina Edmonds died from head injuries
Detectives investigating the murder of a 77-year-old woman discovered in her Hampshire home have released e-fit images of men they want to speak to.

Georgina Edmonds was found dead by her son in the kitchen of her home in Kiln Lane, Brambridge, on 11 January.

The two men in the images were seen at the Brambridge Garden Centre at 1000 and 1430 GMT on the day she died.

Post-mortem tests showed Mrs Edmonds died of extensive head injuries. Last week her daughter appealed for help.

Mrs Edmonds' daughter, Doddie Edmonds, who works as a nurse in Kenya and Sudan, said she was shocked by her mother's murder, before appealing for anybody with information "no matter how small" to contact the police.

Det Ch Insp Paul Barton, of Hampshire Constabulary, said: "I would urge these men or anyone who may know who they are, to contact the police.

"So far police have taken 517 statements and received 341 calls from members of the public with information.

"This is still very much an active investigation and I would urge anyone with any information about this incident to come forward."

One of the men depicted in the e-fit is aged in his late 20s to early 30s, more than 6ft, of slim build with mousey blond hair.

He wore a dark blue three-quarter-length jacket.

The other man was aged in his late 30s to early 40s, shorter in height and had a larger build.

He also had a darker complexion and short, cropped dark-coloured hair.

Since last Friday, officers have been searching a house in Twyford Road, two miles from where Mrs Edmonds was killed.

A distinctive key fob, Mrs Edmonds' cash card, cheque book and handbag have all been missing since the killing.

Detectives also want to talk to anyone who used the footpath that runs alongside the River Itchen, south from Brambridge towards Highbridge Road, Allbrook Hill and Twyford Road.

Four men were arrested on 14 January. Three of them were released without charge the following day, while a 37-year-old man was released on bail.
