Body of woman found on motorway
The body of a woman has been found on the M3 in Hampshire.

The northbound carriageway between junctions four and five near Farnborough was closed from about 0700 GMT, but all lanes have since reopened.

Police are trying to identify the woman, who was white, of large build, and wearing pink pyjama-style trousers. It is not yet known how she died.

Congestion caused long tailbacks on what was the first day back to work for many people, police said.

The woman was also wearing a ring set with four to five diamonds on her right hand and a silver necklace was found nearby.

Police were alerted to the body by a member of the public who contacted them shortly before 0700 GMT.
