Cat released from three-inch gap
Trapped cat
Bert became trapped after chasing a mouse into the narrow space
Firefighters had to dismantle part of a wall to free a cat which had become trapped in a three-inch-wide gap.

The officers used a chisel to help remove Bert, who had squeezed himself into the narrow space between two garages as he chased a mouse.

Firefighters placed a tea towel over the cat's head to help keep him calm as officers chipped away at the wall.

Family pet Bert is now being checked by a vet as he recovers from his one-hour ordeal in Dibden Purlieu, Hampshire.
