Tribute to mother killed in crash
Patricia McGill
Mrs McGill was planning a ceremony to renew her wedding vows
A woman who died after a car crash in a Hampshire village has been named as Patricia Maria McGill.

The 58-year-old from Church Crookham, sustained fatal injuries in a collision between her Ford Fiesta and a Ford Transit van in the village on Tuesday.

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the incident on Aldershot Road to come forward.

Mrs McGill was taken to the Royal London Hospital where she later died of her injuries.

'Indescribable loss'

Two men, aged 19 and 22, who were in the van, were taken to Frimley Park Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Mrs McGill's children said the family's loss was indescribable.

They released a statement that said: "Our mum was the light of our family and we are struggling to come to terms with what has happened.

"We have lived in Fleet as a family for most of our lives and it was impossible to walk down the high street without people coming up to mum to say hello and have a chat.

"Her warm and caring nature was like a magnet."

A few days before her death, Mrs McGill and her husband, who had been married for 39 years, had arranged to renew their wedding vows in 2008.

"That such a terrible thing could happen at such a happy time is beyond understanding," her children added.
