Armed robbers raid security van
Two men threatened a security van driver with knives before stealing a large amount of cash in Hampshire.

The Loomis security van was parked on the forecourt of the Pied Piper Shell Garage, Winchester Road, Basingstoke, when the robbery happened.

The thieves forced the driver to hand over the cash box before fleeing in a red Alfa Romeo 147 Coupe.

Anyone who saw the incident on Thursday afternoon has been asked to contact police.

Det Con Paul Smith said: "I am appealing for anyone who was at the garage or in the area at the time of the incident to get in touch if they have any information that may help our inquiry.

"There were several people queuing or filling their vehicles with petrol at the time and it is likely they witnessed the incident."
