Flying Bull Primary School was closed after rain caused flooding
Several schools in Portsmouth have been forced to close after torrential rain caused heavy flooding across the city.

Three Paulsgrove schools - King Richard School, Saxon Shore Infant School and Westfield Junior School - are shut.

St Edmunds Catholic School, in Arundel Street, Flying Bull Primary School, in Buckland, and Spinnaker Pupil Referral Unit, in Fratton, have also closed.

Brambles Nursery, Southsea, is shut too and a decision on whether the schools will reopen on Friday is due later.

The city council said it would be assessing all the schools on Thursday afternoon.
