A British man has been found dead in the waters of a marina in Portugal, apparently after drowning.
The 53-year-old, originally from Gosport, Hampshire, was found in Vilamoura marina in southern Portugal.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances. They said the man had been living on a boat off Vilamoura and was last seen alive on 2 April.
The Foreign Office said the identity of the man would not be released until all next of kin had been informed.
Police Commander Reis Aguas said an investigation had been launched and a post-mortem examination carried out.
"It is still unclear at this time how long he had been living in Portugal," he said.
Mr Aguas said the man's boat had been bought in Portugal and that he also owned a car with a non-Portuguese licence plate.
Vilamoura is a seaside village and popular tourist destination in the south of the Algarve region.
