A teacher who abused children for over 30 years and kept illegal pornographic images has been jailed for three years.
Malcolm Eastlake, 61, of Otterbourne, Hampshire, began abusing the young son of a fellow student at teacher-training college in the 1970s.
He admitted the abuse at an earlier hearing, as well as abusing a boy at a Hampshire junior school in the 1980s.
Winchester Crown Court heard how he also abused a girl, 12, with learning problems at a school in 2005.
'Atrocious and despicable'
At the time, he was given a full and final written warning from the school because of 12 previous allegations of inappropriate conduct with children, the court heard.
The final assault on the girl was seen by a cleaner prompting the two other victims, now much older, to come forward and tell police what Eastlake had done.
The prosecution said more than 1,000 sexual images of children were later found on two of Eastlake's computers.
After confessing to his daughter-in-law, Eastlake pleaded guilty to one specimen count of indecent assault in the 1970s, three counts of indecent assault between 1981 and 1983, one count of sexual activity with a girl under 13 and four specimen counts of making indecent photographs of children.
Sentencing him to three years in prison, judge Andrew Barnett called Eastlake's crimes "atrocious and despicable" and said he should be placed on the sex offenders' register.
He will also be banned from working with children for life.
