Police are to study CCTV footage to see if the attack was filmed
Police investigating a racist assault in which an Iraqi man was almost killed have arrested a second man in connection with the attack.

The 18-year-old victim was rushed to hospital with severe lacerations to his neck after the attack in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, on Saturday night.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and released on bail until 4 October.

A 23-year-old man arrested after the assault was bailed on Monday.

He will also reappear before police on 4 October.

Detectives have been analysing CCTV footage in their investigation into what they described as a racially-motivated attack.

Officers said first aid given at the scene by a passer-by saved the victim's life.

He was with an Albanian friend when he was attacked at about 2230 BST.
