Police said systems on display invited opportunist thieves
Drivers with satellite navigation systems are warned to remove them when not in use after a spate of thefts.

More than 30 "sat nav" devices were stolen from cars in Southampton, according to Hampshire Police.

"They are portable, small and new usually cost at least £200. Thieves can often get into a vehicle and take them within seconds," said a spokesman.

Crime figures revealed that thieves are targeting cars in Lordshill, Maybush, Aldermoor and Shirley.
