Jamie Turner remains critically ill in hospital
A football fan remains critically ill in hospital after he was hurt in a gang brawl just before Southampton's match against Manchester United on Sunday.

Jamie Turner, 45, of Telford, Shropshire, suffered head injuries in the fight involving more than 20 people in Clifford Street, Southampton.

The game ended with Southampton being relegated from the Premiership.

More than 15 detectives are now working on the case and several are to travel to Manchester to speak to eyewitnesses.

Officers have also been studying CCTV footage and carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area.

Det Insp Chris Fitchet, leading the investigation, said; "Jamie has been left very badly injured in this attack and I'd urge any witness who hasn't yet come forward to contact us as soon as possible so we can piece together exactly what happened."
