Decision due on Nile source trek
Neil McGrigor
Mr McGrigor feared for his life in Tuesday's attack
A decision is due to be made on whether an expedition to trek to the source of the Nile is to continue after the group was attacked by rebels in Uganda.

Steve Willis, a former diplomat who ran a backpackers' camp in Uganda, died instantly when two Lord's Resistance Army rebels shot at the group's car.

He was helping the Ascend the Nile team, led by Hampshire's Neil McGrigor, after they got into trouble rafting.

An expedition spokeswoman said a decision would be made by Monday.

Further treatment

Tracey Clarke said: "Friday is a day they want to devote to Steve's family.

"They do not feel it would be appropriate to make a decision today.

"Also they are taking time to recover from their injuries. Neil is receiving further treatment today."

Mr McGrigor, from Lymington, suffered burns in the attack in the Murchison Falls National Park in northern Uganda on Tuesday.

The British and New Zealand expedition had set off in September from Rashid, Egypt.
