Island ferry services stepped up
Red funnel ferry terminal
The Red Eagle will be refitted to increase the number of crossings
Ferry operator Red Funnel is increasing capacity on its services between Southampton and the Isle of Wight.

It is refitting and extending one of its vehicle-carrying vessels called the Red Eagle.

The ship should be back in operation by March next year but while the work is carried out there will be a slightly reduced service on the route.

The company is also introducing a new system of internet booking which will offer discounted fares to customers.
