Walks celebrate 'right to roam'
Walkers
The 'right to roam' laws were introduced in the south on 14 December
Ramblers are being invited to celebrate the right to access different areas of the countryside at the same time as walking off Christmas excess.

Several group walks in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have been organised by the Ramblers' Association.

They come just two weeks after the introduction in the South of the countryside "right to roam" law.

Many formerly fenced off areas marked as common land must now be accessible for walkers.

The Ramblers' Association says the new legislation will mean everyone will be able to enjoy the wild landscapes of England and Wales.

There is a choice of five walks on Boxing Day, in Catherington, Locks Heath, Mottisfont, Lyndhurst and Brading with another three in Fordingbridge, Alton and Burley on the 29th.
