Man 'critical' after bus accident

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was struck by a bus.

The 25-year-old local man suffered life-threatening head injuries in the accident at about 3.15pm on Wednesday in Southampton.

A Hampshire police spokesman said it appeared the pedestrian was struck by the bus as he crossed London Road near to the junction with the Inner Avenue.

The victim was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a critical condition in intensive care.
