A 15-year-old boy who was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver has died from his injuries 10 days after the crash.

Ryan Liddon from the Holbury area of Hampshire, suffered head injuries and multiple fractures in the accident on Sunday 12 September.

He died at Southampton General Hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Two men who abandoned their car after it overturned and hit Ryan on a pavement in Fawley Road, Hythe, are being hunted by police.

Inspector Roger Price: "This is a tragedy for the Liddon family. Someone knows who was driving the silver Proton car which lost control and hit Ryan.

"Someone knows the identity of that driver and the passenger, both of whom fled the scene, leaving Ryan.

"We appeal to anyone with that information or who witnessed the crash to contact the police."
