The victim is thought to have fallen from an upper floor of the building

Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man thought to have fallen from the third floor of a Cheltenham building.

Police were called to a house in Rodney Road at about 2300 GMT on Christmas Day where they found the man, understood to be 19-year-old Jake Johnson.

The victim was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital where he later died.

Those arrested include two local men, aged 18 and 25 who were detained shortly after the victim was found.

The man reportedly fell from an upper floor of the building, which is in an area of shops, offices and flats, between Rodney Road and the Regent Arcade.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said: "Six people are under arrest in total, two arrests were made soon after the incident and the others arrested subsequently.

"All of them are still in custody while inquiries are ongoing."
