Parents lobby to keep school open

Vale of Berkeley College
Parents say the college is doing a good job and they want to save it

Parents of children who go to the Vale of Berkeley College in Gloucestershire are to hold a meeting tonight to try to prevent the school from closing.

A government report has recommended shutting the site as student numbers have fallen to fewer than 300 making it harder to deliver a varied curriculum.

But parents say the college is doing a good job and they have urged the county council to keep it open.

The council must now decide whether to follow the recommendation.
