Man remanded to face murder trial

A 24-year-old man charged with murdering a man in Gloucestershire is to be tried at Bristol Crown Court.

Christopher Toomey of The Willows, Purlieu, Lydney, was arrested after a report of a stabbing at a house in Manor Road in the town on Sunday.

A 30-year-old man from Lydney was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been told.

Mr Toomey was remanded in custody after an appearance at Cheltenham Magistrates' court.
