Head vows to fight over dismissal

Roger Lock

The former head of Marling school in Stroud is to take legal advice following the rejection of an appeal he made against his dismissal.

On Monday governors met to hear Roger Lock's appeal against an earlier ruling made in May.

In a statement, the governors said the priority now was to provide some stability.

Mr Lock was suspended from his position in November 2008, although the county council has refused to reveal why.

Alyson Mills, the acting head, is to stay in her role until autumn when a new head teacher is to be appointed.
