More job cuts at engineering firm

A further 50 jobs are to be lost at the Gloucestershire-based engineering company SKF.

The redundancies, which affect shop floor workers and managers, are due to take place by the end of the month.

An SKF spokesman said the aerospace market showed no signs of picking up. "The order book isn't improving so we've had to cut some of our costs."

Last month more than 80 jobs were lost in the super precision bearings division of the Stonehouse site.
