Jewellery valued at £500k stolen

Jewellery valued at £500,000 was stolen from a car in Cirencester over the weekend, police have said.

The theft happened when the owner parked his car at Tesco in Cricklade Road in the Gloucestershire town early on Saturday evening.

"The man had been running a stall at the Cotswold Fair at Cirencester Park and had left two bags containing the jewellery," a police spokesman said.

He appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
