Wanted notice posted for hurt cat

Missing cat Lionel

A vets' practice has paid for 600 "missing" posters and 20,000 leaflets to be printed after it lost a customer's injured black cat.

Jodie Hawkins' pet Lionel was taken to Cheltenham's Honeybourne Veterinary Centre with a dislocated hip after he was hit by a car.

But he escaped when a nurse took him home to care for him over the weekend.

So the surgery has paid for the posters in a bid to reunite five-year-old Lionel with his worried owner.

The professionally-printed posters will be put up around the local area.

A further 20,000 leaflets are to be dropped through people's letter boxes by a distribution company.

Vet Dan Farmer said: "We are all desperate to find him."

Mrs Hawkins, a mental health nurse, said: "It's awful to think of him wandering the streets with a broken hip."

Anyone who spots Lionel should call 01242 522 429.
