The shopping area is part of a wider regeneration scheme

A £400m designer outlet centre opens in Gloucester later, marking the start of the city's regeneration programme.

The Quays shopping centre has been built to revitalise the docklands area of the historic city.

It is the first of seven sites in Gloucester earmarked for a £1bn makeover.

A four-star hotel, supermarket, bars and restaurants are also planned for The Quays. Entertainers will welcome shoppers as the doors open.
