Man arrested after dog bites boy

An eight-year-old boy needed surgery to his arm after being attacked and bitten by a dog in Leonard Stanley, Gloucestershire.

Police arrested a 44-year-old man from Ebley on suspicion of possessing a dog dangerously out of control after the attack in Gipsy Lane on 8 February.

The boy was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and later transferred to Frenchay Hospital.

The man was bailed until 17 March pending further inquiries.
