Centre's bid to help overweight

A Cotswolds leisure centre is starting a fitness drive to help its members shed some weight after Christmas.

Until New Year's Eve, they can take part in any activity for £1 at Cirencester's Cotswold Leisure Centre.

Managers said they were hopeful of a good turnout at the centre which was forced to close for repairs after the flooding in 2007.

Repairs costing £800,000 followed a major clean-up operation and the centre reopened early in 2008.
