Drink drive campaign arrests made

Almost 50 people have been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in the first three weeks of Gloucestershire Police's drink-drive campaign.

Of those 30 have been charged and are due to appear in court and another 15 have been released on bail.

Last year's Christmas campaign saw 2,240 breath tests being taken, 82 of which proved positive.

Insp David Collicott said drink-driving was "a matter of life and death" which they took "seriously all year round".
