Governors suspend school's head

Roger Lock
Parents have been informed of the suspension of Roger Lock

The head of a secondary school in Stroud has been suspended by the board of governors.

No reasons for the suspension of Roger Lock have been released by either Marling School or Gloucestershire County Council (GCC).

A statement released on Friday by GCC confirmed the suspension and that the school would continue to run as normal.

"The suspension is without prejudice while investigations are carried out. Parents have been informed," it said.

An acting head has been put in place at the school which specialises in the teaching of engineering.
