Man's vehicle crashes into shop

An elderly man has been taken to hospital after his car went through the front of a shop window in Cheltenham.

The accident happened at a former pasty shop on the old High Street at 1000 BST on Saturday.

The man's silver Nissan Micra went through the plate glass window, an eyewitness told BBC News.

He said he saw the car speeding down the road before the accident. Police sealed off the scene and appealed for witnesses to contact them.
