Man dies after town centre crash

A 33-year-old man has died after being hit by a lorry in the centre of Cheltenham on Thursday afternoon.

The man was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital after the crash on the A4109 Tewkesbury Road, but later died, according to police.

The road was closed following the incident at 1410 BST to allow accident investigators to examine the scene.

Gloucestershire Police have issued an appeal for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
