A teenager is raising money for the new Great Western Air Ambulance which flew to his aid after he was hit by a car.
Andrew Bryce, 15, suffered multiple injuries in the accident in Charfield, Gloucestershire, earlier this month.
The service has helped more than 120 patients since it was launched two months ago.
Andrew, who is expected to make a full recovery, said he would be raising funds for the air ambulance in thanks to crews for "saving his life".
Advanced skills
The teenager suffered fractures to his skull, neck and eye socket, a badly cut ear and lost five teeth in the incident.
He said his friend had put him in the recovery position while awaiting the arrival of the air ambulance.
"[The crews] incubated me at the scene and saved my life. I think if they hadn't been there, I'd be dead," he said.
He said he was hoping to persuade every school in the area to hold a non-uniform day to raise money for the service.
Andrew is visiting the air ambulance's base at Filton Airport near Bristol on Tuesday to thank crews for their help.
His mother Sheri said: "I think it is wonderful that the air ambulance was able to bring advanced medical skills to a head injury incident so quickly.
"If he hadn't received immediate treatment, the outcome could have been much worse."
