Phone and purse taken in robbery

A mobile phone and a purse was taken during a house burglary on Sunday in the Brockworth area of Gloucester, police in the city have said.

A man was challenged by a neighbour of the victim after he had been seen entering the house in Westfield Road.

When asked, the man, who had an Eastern European accent, said he was looking for a friend.

A short time later the homeowner, who had been alerted by the neighbour, realised the thefts had taken place.

The thief was described as in his 20s and wearing a reflective jacket.
