A new flag will fly on top of the Shire Hall to commemorate the Gloucestershire Millennium.

The Gloucestershire flag was part of a competition to launch celebrations of 1,000 years since the county's birth.

The winning flag, designed by Gloucester resident Jeremy Bentall from Hucclecote, beat 1,000 design entries.

The flag colours represent the county. Green for the fields, hills and meadows, yellow for the Cotswold stone and blue for the river Severn.
