A police officer who is recovering from bowel cancer is planning a six-day sponsored walk along the Cotswold Way to raise charity cash.
Richard Burge of Gloucestershire Police went back to work last February and is aiming to complete the 102-mile (164km) hike in six days.
The chief inspector from Stroud is due to begin his walk on Sunday 29 June.
He is raising funds for the Colorectal Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital and to raise awareness of the disease.
"The consultant at the unit, Mr Neil Borley, and his dedicated team of nurses and doctors, have been amazing throughout. Absolutely unbelievable," he said.
