Jobs go as car dealership closes

A car dealership has gone into administration with the loss of 116 jobs in Gloucestershire and Berkshire.

Bridges Motor Group, which employed 139 staff, had two garages in Cirencester and one each in Newbury and Reading, selling Renault and Nissan cars.

Administrators KPMG said tough trading conditions in the automotive retail sector led to the closures.

Most of the remaining staff, based at head office in Cirencester, are said to be helping to tie up loose ends.
