A fifth man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man and a youth were hit by pellets fired from a car in Cheltenham.

The victims, aged 34 and 16, suffered head and facial injuries in the incident in Lipson Road on 12 May.

The pair were discharged from hospital after treatment, but have refused to co-operate with police investigations.

The 19-year-old from Cheltenham was arrested early on Thursday and is helping police with their enquiries.

Three men from Cheltenham, aged 19, 20 and 17, and a 24-year-old from Gloucester had previously been arrested in relation to the attack and have been bailed.

Police said the car from which the pellets were fired was believed to be a white Subaru Impreza.

It was driven away from the scene at speed, closely followed by a second car, thought to be a blue Vauxhall Vectra.
