Two held over drive-by shooting

A man and a youth have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two people were hit by pellets fired from a car in Cheltenham.

The victims, aged 34 and 16, suffered minor head and facial injuries in the incident in Lipson Road on Monday.

Police said they were discharged from hospital after treatment, but refused to co-operate with their investigation.

A 20-year-old man and a youth aged 16 were arrested and are being questioned about the drive-by shooting.

After the shooting, Supt Neil Mantle said: "This was an extremely serious incident of a type we see only rarely in Gloucestershire."
