Two hit by pellets fired from car

A man and a youth suffered facial injuries when they were hit by pellets fired from a passing car.

The two, aged 34 and 16, were walking in Lipson Road, Cheltenham, when the attack happened on Monday.

Police said the car, thought to have been a Subaru Impreza, was driven away quickly after the pellets were fired.

The victims suffered minor injuries and were discharged from hospital early on Tuesday. Both of them have refused to co-operate with the police.

Supt Neil Mantle said: "This was an extremely serious incident of a type we see only rarely in Gloucestershire."
