Murder detectives return to scene

Detectives investigating the disappearance of a missing woman are to return to her Gloucestershire village in an attempt to uncover new leads.

Kate Prout, 55, disappeared from her farm in Redmarley on Bonfire Night last year, but her body has not been found.

A police spokesman said officers would be making house-to-house visits in the village between 15-18 May.

"It's our job to exhaust every new line of enquiry. We hope to find new leads not considered by the original team."

'Letter sent'

Acting Det Supt Neil Kelly has sent a letter to all Redmarley residents explaining why he is asking for their assistance.

He said villagers had been extremely supportive and helpful during the investigation, but despite their efforts Mrs Prout had not been seen since.

She was reported missing on Saturday 10 November 2007.

Her husband Adrian, 45, previously arrested on suspicion of murder, has had his bail extended to September 2008

Bail has been cancelled on two men and a woman who are no longer part of the enquiry.

They are a 43-year-old man from Lydney, a woman aged 48 from Bisley and a 60-year-old man from Redmarley.
