Residents cross border to recycle

People wanting to recycle waste in the north Cotswolds can now use facilities just over the border in Warwickshire.

The household recycling centre at Shipston-on-Stour is closer to Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh than their nearest depot in Gloucestershire.

A formal agreement has been made between the two councils involved.

"Shipston is a much more convenient destination for people living in the north of our district," a Cotswold district council spokesman said.

A large range of materials, including electrical goods, scrap metal and timber, can be recycled at the centre.
