Police have been granted extra time to question two people held in connection with the disappearance of a woman from her Gloucestershire farm.

On Tuesday police re-arrested Kate Prout's husband Adrian, 45, on suspicion of the 55-year-old's murder.

A woman, aged 48, from the Stroud area is also helping police enquiries.

Mrs Prout disappeared from her farmhouse at Redmarley in the Forest of Dean last Bonfire Night. No trace of her has been found.

'Land searched'

Mr Prout was previously arrested on suspicion of murder on 27 November 2007, but released without charge.

He was re-arrested on Tuesday morning along with the 48-year-old.

Police have searched about 200 acres of land around the Redmarley farmhouse as part of their inquiry.

Dairy farmer Mrs Prout is described as white, 5ft 6in tall and of medium build.

She is described as having a pale complexion, green eyes and at the time of her disappearance had brown, shoulder-length straight hair, although it has previously been red in colour.

She was wearing jeans and a black v-neck top when she was last seen.
