Inquest due on ecstasy smuggler
A post-mortem examination is due to be conducted on a Gloucestershire drugs smuggler found shot dead in Holland.

Simon Cowmeadow, 43, of Flaxley, was found next to a road in Amsterdam on 18 November. He had been shot in the back of the head.

He had been sentenced in his absence to 18 years in jail in 2002 for his role in a 1m ecstasy smuggling ring.

Cowmeadow was caught with two others unloading a lorry carrying 100,000 ecstasy pills in Essex in 2001.

He skipped bail and had been on the run since then, police said.

His body was returned to the UK over the weekend and the Gloucester coroner Alan Crickmore is due to open an inquest on Thursday.
