The 45-year-old husband of a missing Gloucestershire woman who was arrested on suspicion of her murder, has been released without charge.

Kate Prout, 55, disappeared from her farmhouse at Redmarley in the Forest of Dean on Bonfire Night.

Officers are searching 200 acres of land around her home, but said there was no direct evidence that she had come to harm and she still may be safe.

Adrian Prout was arrested and had been held for questioning since Tuesday.

Police said the search of the area around the farmhouse was continuing and would last for some time.

Mrs Prout is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build.

She is described as having a pale complexion, green eyes and at the time of her disappearance had brown, shoulder-length straight hair although it has previously been red in colour.

She was wearing jeans and a black v-neck top when she was last seen.
