Work starts on new primary school
A turf-cutting ceremony is due to take place later to mark the start of work on a new primary school in Gloucester.

The school will meet demand for places from the new Kingsway housing estate in Quedgeley, where more than 2,600 homes are being built in the next 10 years.

The 14-class school is expected to open in September 2008, starting with four classes and rising as need increases.

The sod-cutting ceremony will take place at the Valley Gardens site on Friday afternoon.
