Flood leads to landslide on road

Damage to the county's roads is estimated to be 25m
A main road in Gloucestershire has been closed after a landslide caused by last month's flooding.

The A46 Painswick Road is shut between the A4173 at Pitchcombe and the A4171 at Beeches Green.

Temporary traffic lights had already been in operation before the closure as Gloucestershire Highways was working on slippage at the site.

Traffic was being diverted on Sunday, but police said the road was likely to stay shut for some time.

Last month, the county council said the cost of repairing Gloucestershire's flood-battered roads would be 25m.
