A 14-year-old girl has been charged after another girl was stabbed in the stomach at a school near Bristol.

The stabbed girl, 13, is said to be in a stable condition in hospital after the incident at Filton High School.

The 14-year-old girl has been charged with wounding with intent, and with possession of a bladed implement.

She has been detained to appear at North Avon Youth Court later. Details of the weapon used in the stabbing have not been released.
