Town builds new industrial units
Work has begun in Cheltenham to create four new industrial units in a deal worth up to £1m.

The former AH Taylors Fellmongers site on Arle Avenue is being transformed ready for the borough council to let.

When work has finished, there will be space for the council to add a further three units, which can also be let.

"It is important that we give new and emerging local businesses more opportunities to develop," said Councillor Paul McLain.

"This initiative, with the council working closely with Central and Provincial Properties Ltd, is a really positive step forward and one I hope the council can repeat with other partners on other appropriate sites," said Mr McLain.

The building programme is expected to be completed in June 2007.

The work carried out by Central and Provincial forms part of their planning obligations connected with development of the former Indalex site.

The developers are responsible for constructing the units, together with site roads and parking.
