Littering crackdown in Cotswolds
A concerted campaign to crack down on littering is being rolled out across the Cotswolds.

Cotswold District Council claims tossing rubbish from cars, dropping cigarette butts, discarding gum and dumping waste will not be tolerated.

"We will be out and about to raise awareness of the problems caused by litter and the cost of clearing it up," said a spokesman.

The council is considering whether to introduce fines for litter offences.

The campaign includes litter-picking in the worst-hit areas, handing out car stickers and portable ashtrays, and cracking down on fly-tipping.
